week 53, post 1:endings, beginnings
I anticipate that this will be my next-to-last or last blog from Louisiana (one more for the road tomorrow?). But I've had so much fun with this blogging that I'm in the mood to continue this site for those who wish to follow what this old man and his little white dog are up to as a pastoral counselor in private practice in Oklahoma. So check in with this site in the future as you wish to; there may be something of value or interest even though I expect I'll be a little more settled. Some of my Louisiana friends may want to stay in touch the other direction -- to know what it's like for me "UP THERE on the prairie."
This has been a week of tender farewells -- with clients throughout the week, at A-Bear's Cafe and the Jolly Inn friday night, at Grace Lutheran Church this morning. We understand this. There were very few "church camp promises" to stay in touch if we knew it wasn't going to happen. I certainly will stay in touch with some of the great friends I have here. But for many of us, this was the last time we'll ever see each other this side of heaven. They will go on with their busy lives and I with mine. Memories and attachments will be crowded out and replaced.
One lives life forward.
Peace, Warren.

So, old man with the white dog. Good for you that you are doing such valuable work in New Orleans. My daughter goes down every chance she gets....she is now older than I was when you sponsored us in Godspell, Warren. I would love to see you/hear from you again - and maybe you can give us the big picture now, having done so much. Email me at your leisure if you have a chance....
So good to talk with you today and to hear about your awesome year on the bayou. I like the image of"old man with a white dog" I look forward to more words of wisdom and defining what the year meant to you. ruth
