Ah, the new year
I don't make New Year's Resolutions -- mostly. Look how I earn my living. I'm all too familiar with the frailty of our egos' resolve to accomplish very much. We're all of us stories of one failure of good intentions after another.
But I did make one....and it's broken already. See? A careless day and the bank account went overdrawn and I've wasted precious money on an overdraft charge. I hate that! So, humbled and angry I will gather up myself and resolve not to do it TWICE in '08. How's that...?
And rather than make resolutions -- I do have some intentions. I've begun reading the Tao Te Ching for this year's meditations. This may not be very difficult; the words fall lightly on my mind like gentle snowflakes, rest a while and dissolve into me.
And, to offer you a smile, a haiku:
New Year's Day--
everything is in blossom!
I feel about average.
