Good Friday, 4/6/07: Gratitude

Last night at Maundy Thursday service, I was gently flooded with gratitude and joy that I get to serve in the way that I do. It feels like God has created me and gifted me for this work and I am in alignment with it. Not everyone is so privileged as I. Yes, of course there are unpleasantries and hardships; there is frustration and heartache. But last night I was once again in that place spiritually where I was aware of my relationship with that old Shaker song, "Simple Gifts," and how from time to time it does come round right. So to all of you who have believed in me, thank you. And to all of you current or former clients who happen to read this from time to time, thank you for letting me love you.
